Heavy weapon team effective against all vehicles. Must be set-up to attack.

The Pak 38 Anti-Tank Gun Team is the standard AT gun unit for the DAK. In multiplayer skirmishes it is available from the Light Support Kompanie after Fire Support Elements is researched. It is also available as a bundled call-in from the Half-Track Deployment System. Specifically, Pak 38 Mechanized Group will deploy a Pak 38 being towed by a 250 Light Carrier.

As with all AT guns, it is a heavy weapons team that requires set-up before being able to fire. Once set-up, it may only fire within its range and arc of fire. As such it is vulnerable to being flanked.

As with other AT guns, they are fairly powerful for their cost, able to deal significant damage to most vehicles. As a downside however, they lack mobility and flexibility due to their set-up nature. Support must be given to them as they are quite vulnerable on their own.

Upon reaching veterancy level 1 this unit gains the active ability Compromise Armor, which allows the AT gun to fire a damaging shell at the target vehicle which also reduces their armor values temporarily. This is great to help ensure the target's destruction as it makes follow-up shots from any anti-tank weaponry more effective.

This AT gun can be towed by certain units, such as the 250 Light Carrier.

Weapon team members by default take more damage compared to regular infantry. Care must be taken as a sneaky flank can be very effective against them.

As with many weapons, once the crew is killed the weapon will be abandoned on the battlefield and can be re-crewed or destroyed by anyone, including enemy players.

Veterancy Abilities

  • Compromise Armor: Upon reaching veterancy level 1 this unit gains the active ability Compromise Armor, which allows the AT gun to fire a damaging shell at the target vehicle which also reduces their armor values temporarily. This is great to help ensure the target's destruction as it makes follow-up shots from any anti-tank weaponry more effective, especially against heavier tanks as typically high armor is hard to penetrate.
