Mobile artillery unit very effective against stationary targets. Must barrage to attack.
The Bishop Self-Propelled Artillery is a UKF artillery vehicle unit. Available from the Platoon Command Post, it requires a separate research upgrade before being unlocked to produce at the structure.
The Bishop is one of few heavier artillery pieces in the game that is fairly mobile, being that it is a vehicle unit instead of a weapon team. As with other artillery, its main purpose is to use its High-Explosive Barrage ability to fire long range volleys at the target area. It offers higher firepower than the lighter mortar teams, offering significantly more damage should the targets not move out of the area. It should be noted that this unit fires at a fairly low projectile arc, meaning its shells can be blocked by high elevation or buildings on the way to the targeted area. On the other hand, its projectiles travel fairly quickly compared to other artillery, giving less time for opponents to react.
This unit lacks an auto-attack feature and thus cannot fire or attack ground at will. As such It is completely dependent on using its barrage abilities for artillery.
Since it is a vehicle, be sure to use its mobility to get into range to perform barrages, and then quickly retreat to a safer area once it completes its task. This can be accomplished easily by shift-queuing a move/reverse order after ordering a barrage. It lacks durability and thus should not stay near the frontline for long as once caught out, it can be easily destroyed.
Upon reaching veterancy level 1 it gains the Direct Shot ability, which fires a single direct round at the targeted area. While it is only a single shot, a well-placed shot can deal devastating damage especially to infantry or garrisons.
This unit benefits from the Light Vehicle Training upgrade available at the Training Center.

Direct Shot: Active ability granted upon reaching veterancy level 1. Allows the Bishop to fire a single artillery shell at the targeted area. A cheeky ability that allows the Bishop to contribute to a fight more directly. Unlike regular barrages, the single shot is accurate to the targeted point. While the Bishop should rarely be close proximity to enemies, it nevertheless grants a sort of emergency defence ability, or a sneaky way to get extra damage in if the Bishop is safe from retaliation. It is on a separate cooldown from its regular barrage ability, and so can be a way to quickly fire off an additional shot on-demand. While it is only a single shot, it can be very powerful due to its pinpoint accuracy, allowing one to deal devastating damage unexpectedly, especially against infantry.

Note: Emergency Engine Repair is campaign exclusive and is not available in skirmishes.
High-Explosive Barrage: Fires multiple volleys at the target area. Has a minimum cast range. The Bishop offers heavier artillery than its lighter counterparts, capable of dealing far more damage to targets that do not move out of the area.
Light Vehicle Training: Available from the Training Center. Grants +800 veterancy XP, and veteran light vehicle units gain +10% accuracy, +10% reload speed, and +10% acceleration.
