Light transport vehicle that can reinforce infantry squads and tow heavy weapons. Can be damaged by small-arms.

The 251 halftrack is the Wehrmacht version of a utility truck. By default, it offers many of the same functions: It can reinforce nearby friendly squads, can transport up to two infantry squads at a time, is capable of towing heavy weapons, can re-crew abandoned weapons for a small Manpower cost, and comes with Support Veterancy which allows it to gain veterancy XP when nearby friendly units gain XP.
Unlike the
As with other utility trucks, it is still a light vehicle that is vulnerable to all kinds of weapons including small arms, although it certainly packs higher health and armour values compared to ultra light vehicles like the Kettenkrad. Offensively, it is armed with a frontal facing machine gun which can allow it to contribute to fights, with similar damage per second (DPS) performance to the USF
At veterancy level 1, the 251 halftrack gains the active ability Riegel 43 Anti-Vehicle Mine. This allows it to lay down more expensive but powerful mines that only trigger on contact with enemy vehicles, and is quite unique as the Wehrmacht otherwise do not have access to this kind of mine.
This unit can be upgraded at the cost of Munitions into one of the following forms:

Like many other utility trucks, the 251 is an ideal way of providing a forward reinforcement method, especially in team games with larger map sizes. While it is not a particularly strong combatant, it brings with it several utility perks not found in other units. Players able to deal with extra micromanagement demands can find its transportation capacity useful for getting squads into positions quickly, including as way to flank or get around suppression from weapons teams. Likewise, being able to tow weapons or re-crew abandoned weapons can be quite helpful in certain situations, especially to spare sacrificing existing squad members to pick up a weapon.
In most cases players generally are quick to upgrade the halftrack into one of the two forms for more specialized usage. The Medical Conversion is an easy way to be able to provide forward healing, especially in team matches for multiple players. However, the Stummel is useful when firepower is needed to deal with entrenched positions and to support infantry with pseudo-artillery.
Uniquely, the default 251 is the only Wehrmacht unit that can lay the more powerful anti-tank mines with its veteran ability. As such, it can be rewarding to keep the 251 alive without upgrading it, providing a very unexpected way to deal with enemy vehicles due to the rarity of Riegal mines in matches.

Rigel 43 Anti-Vehicle Mine: Active ability. Orders the unit to move to the target location and start 'constructing' a land mine at the target area. Unlike regular mines, this mine is more expensive in Munitions cost but also far more powerful. The AT mine only triggers on contact with enemy vehicles, and as such infantry can pass over it without triggering it. When the mine explodes, it deals greater damage than regular mines especially against vehicles, capable of taking out many light vehicles on its own. Guarantees 'Engined Damaged' state to any vehicles hit. Overall an interesting and unique ability as the 251 is the only Wehrmacht unit that is capable of laying this mine. Beware that converting the halftrack into a different form will change its veteran ability.

This unit can benefit from the following perks/upgrades:

Note: Medical Station and Self-Repair are not available in skirmishes.
Reinforcement / Toggle Auto-Reinforce: Active toggle ability. This unit can reinforce nearby friendly infantry squads by default. When toggled on, reinforcement will queue up automatically assuming resources permit it. When toggled off, automatic reinforcement is disabled. Note that squads can still be manually reinforced by the player.
Transport Capacity: Not an ability, but is an actual function. This unit has transport capacity and thus can carry up to two squads at once. Occupants inside cannot fire or otherwise do any actions until they disembark. Note that if the transport is destroyed while transporting troops, the occupants have a high chance of either taking significant damage (often resulting in half or more of the squad dying) or being wiped out completely.
Tow Heavy Weapon: This unit can tow heavy weapons. Since it has transportation capacity, it can also transport non-abandoned weapons due to being able to transport the weapon crewmen. Since the halftrack is a larger vehicle, it can tow the heaviest of weapons including the UKF
Recrew Weapon: The unit deploys two soldiers to recrew an abandoned weapon, for a low Manpower cost. This is generally a more efficient way of crewing abandoned weapons as it saves the hassle and cost of sacrificing an existing infantry squad's members to take over a weapon.
Support Veterancy: This unit receives veterancy XP when nearby friendly units gain XP. This allows the unit to gain XP even when not directly fighting. If multiple units with Support Veterancy are nearby, the shared experience will be split evenly among them.
Raid Package: Passive ability. Requires the Raid Package perk from Mechanized Battlegroup. Globally allows all light vehicles to capture territory and all vehicles can use the Smoke Canisters ability.
Smoke Canisters: Active ability. Requires the Raid Package perk from Mechanized Battlegroup. Drops a smoke cloud immediately in front of the vehicle, obscuring line of sight. Useful especially in defensive situations in order to escape fire from enemy units.
Repair Crews: Passive ability. Requires the Repair Crews perk from Mechanized Battlegroup. Grants the
