Light support vehicle effective against infantry and snipers. Can capture territory. Vulnerable to small-arms. Can reveal nearby camouflaged units.
The Kradschützen Motorcycle Team (often referred to as simply "Motorcycle" or "Motorbike") is a DAK vehicle unit, available from the
The motorbike serves as the DAK's primary recon vehicle, utilizing its high mobility and larger sight range to scout out threats and provide support. It counts as a detector unit and thus can reveal camouflaged enemy units at a greater range of 25 compared to the standard 12.5 for most units. Unlike most vehicles, it is capable of capturing territory by default.
Also unlike the vast majority of vehicles in the game, this unit cannot Reverse at all.
This unit fires a forward facing MG that is effective against infantry and very light vehicles. While its damage is fairly small, it allows it to be an effective harasser in the early game especially as it can move rapidly to 'kite' enemies and continue firing. The motorbike can be a great threat against vulnerable targets such as weapons teams, as it can speedily flank them and force them to move. Note that since the MG is fixed facing forward, the unit must turn to face targets before begin able to fire.
Upon reaching veterancy level 1 it gains additional utility through the passive Tracer Marking. Enemy infantry damaged by the motorbike's weapon will be 'marked' temporarily, making them easier to hit with other friendly units. This allows the motorcycle to amplify damage for the rest of your army by simply harassing desired targets.
The motorbike has the fastest speed in the game, which should be taken advantage of to always be a thorn in the enemy. Its speed means it can easily move around capturing various points and retreat as necessary, or used to scout and flank as needed on the frontline. It also has one of the highest default sight range in the game at 45 meters, only being outclassed by the UKF
On the other hand, the motorbike has very low durability and can be easily destroyed by nearly anything. As it inevitably takes damage, one can hastily retreat it and use Self-Repair to heal it back up without using another unit to repair it, though Self-Repair does have a long cooldown. Perhaps one of the biggest downsides to the motorbike is the inability to Reverse - this needs to be kept in mind by DAK players as it means some level of planning is needed in order to keep the motorbike safe.
As time passes, it becomes more difficult to keep it alive due to how easily it can be dispatched by various weapons. Care must be taken as lots of micromanagement is necessary to continue making effective use of it, though it can be rewarding as it still remains an excellent recon vehicle that can provide crucial intel if kept alive throughout a match.
This unit does not count as a vehicle for the purposes of Combined Arms and Vehicle Awareness.
