Heavy weapon very effective against structures, team weapons, and stationary infantry at long-range. Must be set-up to attack.
The Le.IG 18 Support Gun Team (commonly referred to as simply "LEIG"), is an artillery team weapon unit for the DAK. It can be unlocked and produced from the Light Support Kompanie after Fire Support Elements has been researched from the same building. It can also be summoned to the field via the Half-Track Deployment System - more specifically, the Le.IG 18 Mechanized Group ability will deploy a 250 Light Carrier towing the LEIG.
The LEIG is similar to the UKF's ML 4.2-inch Heavy Mortar Team. It is heavier artillery than standard mortars and thus more cumbersome, with slower movement, longer set up times, inability to retreat, and general lower mobility. However, it offers higher damage and area of effect compared to standard mortars.
Like most heavy weapons, it must be set-up before it can fire, and can only fire within its range and arc of fire. Team weapon members also take more damage than regular infantry and thus care must be taken as a sneaky flank can easily wipe them out.
Like any other artillery, it is best used at long range and far away from threats as if it is caught out, it has little ability to defend itself or escape easily. Similar to standard mortars, it is capable of auto attacking (or attack ground command) at a very slow rate of fire. While generally too slow to be very effective, it allows the artillery to continue contributing while its barrage abilities are on cooldown. Unlike standard mortars, its volleys are more powerful and capable of doing more damage upon striking enemies, in addition to having longer range.
By default it can do standard High-Explosive Barrages as well as Smoke Barrages. Upon reaching veterancy level 1 it gains access to Hollow Charge Round, which allows it to fire a single round at a target vehicle, reducing its speed and rotation rate.
As with all other heavy weapons, if the entire crew is killed the weapon will be abandoned. Any player can then tow, re-crew, or destroy the weapon on the field, including enemy players.

Hollow Charge Round: Active ability. Fires a single direct shot at the target vehicle, dealing damage while also reducing the target's speed and rotation rate. Useful ability similar to an anti-tank snare but with longer range, great for debilitating a vehicle to ensure its destruction.
