Light tank effective against infantry and light vehicles. Can damage tanks when flanking.
The M3 Stuart Light Tank is a UKF light tank unit. Available from the
As the name implies, the Stuart is the first 'actual' tank for the UKF, bringing additional armour that cannot be reliably penetrated by small arms. It packs a tank cannon that is more reliable than other light vehicles like the
While it is slower than various light vehicles, it still is quite mobile for a tank, allowing it to flank and chase targets effectively. Effectively, the role of the Stuart is somewhat similar to the Humber, in that it uses its speed to flank enemies and fight off infantry, although it is also effective against many light vehicles while being much more durable. When it comes to medium and heavy tanks, the Stuart may struggle to penetrate the frontal armour but can still deal damage if it can get around the flanks.
The Stuart can be upgraded with one of two different options for additional tactical options. Survival Package grants the tank Smoke Canisters and Self-Repair abilities, while Tank Commander grants the Coordinate Infantry, Reconnaissance Scan, and Mark Vehicle abilities. More information about these abilities can be found below.
In addition, after reaching veterancy level 1 the Stuart gains the Tread Shot ability, essentially granting it an anti-tank snare ability.
While it is more durable and thus makes it easier to make riskier plays, it ultimately is still a light tank. Most anti-tank weaponry can effectively damage it and care must be taken as it can be easily destroyed with a few well placed shots. As time passes and better anti-vehicle measures are deployed by the opponent, it may become difficult to utilize the Stuart effectively due to its vulnerability to being destroyed quickly. Its upgrades allow it to maintain useful utility, and UKF players can always refund it via Withdraw and Refit.

Tread Shot: Active ability gained upon reaching veterancy level 1. Orders the Stuart fires its cannon at the target vehicle, dealing damage while also impairing it with a speed penalty of -80% speed and -40% rotation for 5 seconds. The ability has guaranteed penetration, and thus it can be used to deal damage against any vehicle even if they have high armour values that the Stuart would normally struggle against. Overall the ability is a very effective way to slow a vehicle down to a crawl so it may be further damaged or destroyed by other AT tools, such as AT guns.

Note: Emergency Engine Repair is a campaign exclusive ability and is not available in multiplayer skirmishes.
Survival Package abilities:
Smoke Canisters: Active ability that when used, drops smoke directly in front of the Stuart. Typically useful as an emergency escape method to retreat from a bad situation.
Self-Repair: Passive ability that allows the Stuart to automatically repair itself when stationary and out of combat.
Tank Commander abilities:
Reconnaissance Scan: Active toggle ability. When toggled on, the Stuart gains significantly larger sight range in an arc in front of it, but loses all sight range outside of this arc, making it effectively blind on its flanks. While this is toggled on, the Stuart's weapon is disabled and its movement speed is also halved. Toggle off to turn off the effects.
Mark Vehicle: Active ability. Marks a target enemy vehicle which makes weapons firing at it have increased accuracy, penetration, and damage against it. The marked target is also revealed even through the fog of war for the duration. Good ability to help destroy a vehicle faster thanks to the significant combat bonuses, but also the reveal means it can still be targeted even in circumstances where it be hidden after retreating.
Coordinate Infantry: Passive ability. The Stuart will enhance nearby infantry within a small radius around it, granting them increased accuracy, rate of fire and sight range.
