Mobile artillery unit effective against stationary targets. Must barrage to attack.
The Wespe Self-Propelled Artillery is a Wehrmacht vehicle unit. In skirmishes, it is only available as an exclusive call-in through the Mechanized Battlegroup, specifically through the ability named the same as the unit.
As with most artillery units, it is best used at long range far away from threats, allowing it to potentially deal massive area of effect damage. Unlike various weapons teams, it is a vehicle and thus comes with the pros and cons of being a vehicle. This means it has greater mobility allowing it to get into position faster and retreat more quickly after firing its barrages, but is vulnerable to various anti-vehicle weapons.
Like most artillery units, it features fairly light durability and thus can be easily destroyed if caught out. It is recommended to retreat safely after firing a barrage (typically through queuing a move command with shift + right click) to avoid being destroyed by flankers or counter barrages.
As a heavier artillery piece, its barrages are particularly devastating, featuring far greater area of effect and damage compared to lighter artillery like mortars. As such it can be effective against any unit especially stationary ones, and is very effective against static defences too. As a downside, it has a longer cooldown on these barrages comparatively.
This unit does not have the ability to auto-attack or attack ground, meaning using its barrage ability is the only way to fire off artillery rounds, and it is effectively useless when said ability is on cooldown.

Creeping Barrage: Active ability gained upon reaching veterancy level 1. When targeting, the player can choose the direction of the creeping barrage and see the approximate area of effect 'rectangle'. Fires off a barrage in a compact line, covering a much smaller area much like a rectangle. As each shot is landing close to each other, this results in the barrage being far more accurate and less 'random'. On the other hand, the tightly clustered impact locations limits its area of effect to essentially a small rectangle. This can be useful when targeting a very specific area or unit that needs to be destroyed, as otherwise a regular barrage would be more efficient when attempting to deal greater area of effect impact. Spotting Scopes: This upgrade is only available when the Spotting Scopes perk within Mechanized Battlegroup is obtained. Increases the vision range of the unit by +10 when stationary.

High Explosive Barrage: Active ability. Fires a barrage of artillery shells at the target location. Has a large maximum range but also a large minimum range. As the Wespe is heavier artillery, this barrage is particularly devastating, dealing generally greater area of effect and damage compared to lighter artillery. Each explosion will also create light cover in the form of craters on the ground.
Smoke Canisters: Active ability only available to this unit when the Raid Package perk is obtained within the Mechanized Battlegroup. When activated, the unit drops smoke directly at its location, creating sight-obscuring smoke clouds. Useful for various purposes, especially as a defensive tool to retreat in the face of enemy fire.
