Heavy weapon very effective against structures, team weapons, and stationary infantry at long-range. Must be set-up to attack.

The M1 Pack Howitzer Team is a USF weapons team unit. In skirmishes, this unit is only available exclusively with Special Operations Battlegroup. Once the appropriate battlegroup perk is unlocked, a
This unit is functionally identical to the UKF version. The weapon uses the exact same stats, and thus barrages for both versions are equally damaging. However, the USF Howitzer does have less health compared to the UKF version. This means the weapon itself is easier to destroy if it is fired upon when abandoned on the battlefield. The USF version also completely lacks any veteran abilities upon reaching vet 1.
This artillery unit functions essentially as medium artillery, in between the lighter
As with other artillery units, it is best used at long range and far away from threats as if it is caught out, it has little ability to defend itself or escape easily. Like standard mortars, it is capable of auto attacking (or attack ground command) at a very slow rate of fire. While generally too slow to be very effective, it allows the artillery to continue contributing while its barrage abilities are on cooldown. Unlike standard mortars, its volleys are more powerful and capable of doing more damage upon striking enemies.
For more immediate and devastating damage, use its High-Explosive Barrage ability to fire multiple volleys at a faster rate. Smoke Barrage is great utility to obscure vision in an area for various purposes, usually to prevent things like HMGs from firing on your units advancing forward.
Mobility-wise the Pack Howitzer is similar to AT guns, in that it is light enough for the team to move independently, but is cumbersome enough that the team requires set-up before firing, and is still slower moving than most infantry. Similarly, this weapon can also be towed.
As with most heavy weapons, if the weapon crew is killed the howitzer will be abandoned on the field and can be re-crewed by any player, including the enemy!

High-Explosive Barrage: Active ability. Fires off several explosive rounds at the target area, with a moderate blast radius for each explosion. As with any artillery, it is most effective against stationary and garrisoned infantry targets, though it can deal adequate damage to light vehicles too. Generally stronger than light mortars but not quite as strong as heavier artillery.
Smoke Barrage: Active ability. Fires off several smoke rounds. These do not deal damage and instead saturate the target area with sight-blocking smoke clouds. This is a great way to deny vision for various purposes, such as preventing an enemy HMG from firing on your troops.
This unit can benefit from the following upgrades available at the Infantry Support Center:
Advanced Logistics: Reduces the Manpower reinforcement cost of all infantry by 25%, and squads reinforced from Triage Station casualties gain a small amount of veterancy XP.
Survival Training: Increases the maximum health of all infantry entities (individual soldiers) by +10 health.
